  • Hoeddeok (sweet syrupy pancakes)  

Hotteok is trending right now! This is the Korean version of Western pancakes. This one of the most popular Korean street foods, mostly foreigners, as well as Koreans, love to eat these pancakes during winter. The shape is flat, circular, and you will find sweet syrup of sugar or honey-filled inside on top of it some sweet flavored powder is sprinkled. Crunchy outside and soft inside make an irresistible flavor.

  • Tteokbokki  (spicy rice cake)

Tteokbokki, is a popular spicy and tangy Korean street food made of circular rice cakes, with some triangular fish cake, vegetables, and sweet red chili sauce. It is often sold by street vendors. People enjoy Tteokbokki for the mixture of spicy and sweet flavors.

  • Samgyeopsal (pork strips)

Here are another most popular Korean dishes in South Korea which foreigners can't resist, Samgyeopsal consists of grilled pieces of pork belly meat that are not marinated or seasoned. They are usually dipped in a seasoning made of only salt and pepper mixed in sesame seed oil and then covered in lettuce leaves along with grilled slices of garlic, onion, some shredded green onions, and of course kimchi. It is one of the most common dishes one can found in any Korean restaurant all over the world. Yes, you read it right you can found this dish outside Korea as well.


  • Japchae (stir-fried noodles)

Japchae is a traditional Korean noodle dish made up of stir-fried sweet potato, some vegetables, meat, and a tinge of soy sauce and sugar. Often served as a side dish during lunch or dinner, Foreigners loved it for its sweet and delicious taste and its very delicate yet somewhat chewy texture.

  • Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup)

A very common dish especially people loves to eat during the summer, Samgyetang is a traditional soup made of chicken, rice, scallion, garlic, Korean ginseng, and other spices. It is recognized to have a high nutritional benefit. It has a very creamy and meaty flavor and is healthy as well.


  • Naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles)

If you know Korea then definitely you know about super famous cold noodles! Naengmyeon is a typical cold Korean noodle dish that consists of long thin noodles, slices of some Korean pear, beef, and a hard-boiled egg. These noodles are usually made of wheat, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. It is also a popular dish especially during the summer to make people cool and to give some relief from the scorching heat.


  • Bokbunja ju (복분자주)

Bokbunja, is a very famous drink made of blackberries that are native to the Korean Peninsula. This wine is in red color people usually refer to as oxblood color, and its sweet, berry flavor is nostalgic. Foreigners refer to it as dessert wine rather than red wine.


  • Soju (소주)

We bet, you can't say no to this drink. Doesn't matter if you are aware of other drinks or not but definitely know Soju. A very common drink in Korea which became famous among foreigners by watching k dramas and movies.


  • Cheongju (청주)

Whenever people need a break from soju they order Cheongju, literally meaning "clear liquor" -- an instantly available most popular drink made up of rice water. Cheongju has been fermented various times, which gives them a pure and sweet taste. 


  • Yulmu (율무)

Do you love corn? Have you heard about a tea made up of corn? Well, we think you don't know but foreigners living in South Korea can't say "no" to this unique tea. Corn tea is usually made with dried and roasted corn kernels or dried corn silk. They have the flavor of roasted corn.
