SEVENTEEN'S THE8, HAI CHENG:
Fans were caught off guard when Pledis announced that The8 will be releasing his brand new single on the 18th of March 2022.
The single is titled “Hai Cheng” which is a city in China where The8 is from. Hai Cheng is a city located in the province of Liaoning.

According to an article released by the company, The8 contributed to the production of the song. He participated in composing as well as writing the lyrics for the track.

As we are aware, the track is named after the city he was born in. Therefore, the track must include real and honest emotions by the artists. Fans will be able to appreciate The8’s sincerity through this single.
This will be his fourth official single from the artists since 2019. In 2018, he released his first mixtape “Night and Rain” on Soundcloud.

The8 started with his first ever solo mixtape "Night and Rain" that was released on March 8,2018 via soundcloud.

A year later, in 2019 he debuted as a solo artist with the single “Dreams Come True” in which a choreography video was released two days after the single.
In 2020, The8 announced the release of his third single “Falling Down.” He showcased his talent in contemporary dance in the music video.
Last year, he released another single titled “Side by Side.” The track has a music video sung in Korean and a special video that is in Chinese. The8 also released a special video for the Korean version.
He is also actively promoted in China where he released several OST's for dramas.
